This success was boosted in the 1990s when Germany was reunified with the former East Germany, which further strengthened its economic power.

Another important milestone in post-war Germany was the country's integration into the European Union (EU). In 1957, Germany joined the European Economic Community (EEC), its predecessor in the EU.

This allowed Germany to play a leading role in shaping the future of Europe and become a major player in international affairs.

In addition to its economic development, Germany has also made significant contributions in the fields of culture, science and technology. Home to world-renowned museums, universities and research institutes, the country's cultural achievements have earned it a reputation as a powerhouse in the arts and humanities.
